About Metro Masonry

The Masons Behind the Work

Our Story

A Working Masonry Crew for the Twin Cities.

Metro Masonry and Restoration is a Minneapolis masonry contractor built around one idea: do the whole trade, and do it right. Commercial restoration on factories, apartment buildings, churches, schools and storefronts; chimney rebuilds and liner systems; tuckpointing, brick repair, retaining walls and concrete — the full range of work the metro's buildings lean on, carried by 20+ combined years on the trowel.

The projects on this site are our own: church towers restored from boom lifts, commercial walls relaid course by course from scaffolds, century-old brick walls taken down to sound masonry and rebuilt with matched units and reset stone, and the chimneys, steps and slabs of the neighborhoods in between. The before-and-after pairs in our work say the most about how we operate: the goal is masonry that looks like it was always there — and stays there.

The people who look at your building and scope it are the people who do the work. Call (320) 465-1161 and see for yourself — the assessment and estimate are free either way.

What We Believe

Three Rules We Don't Break

Say It Straight

If a repair beats a rebuild, a scope can wait a season, or a budget fits a phased plan better, you hear it at the first visit. Masonry work runs on referrals, and you do not keep those by overselling.

Put It in Writing

Every estimate is written: the price, the timeline, the materials and matching, what gets demolished and hauled, and the must-fix separated from the can-wait so budgets go where the wall needs them.

Build the Invisible Parts Right

Crowns, flashing, drainage, footings, full mortar joints — the parts you never see are the reason masonry survives Minnesota or fails it. We build them like the decades will inspect them, because they will.

Why Choose Metro

Why the Twin Cities Call Metro Masonry

Restoration Is the Trade

Rebuilding walls, chimneys and facades is not a sideline here — it is the core of the work. Matched brick, matched mortar, proper crowns and full joints, because that is why masonry lasts.

Built for Minnesota

Freeze-thaw is the enemy of every wall in this state. Crowns that shed, joints struck to drain, air-entrained concrete, drainage behind every wall — details chosen for this climate, not a milder one.

Written, Prioritized Scopes

We assess on the wall, separate must-fix from can-wait, and put price and timeline in writing. Owners and property managers can phase budgets instead of getting one take-it-or-leave-it number.

Commercial-Grade Crew

Occupied buildings, lifts and scaffolds, site protection and daily cleanup — we run residential jobs with the same discipline as a church tower, because the standard should not change with the address.

How We Work

How a Job With Metro Masonry Runs

From the first look at the site to the final walk-through, here is exactly how it goes.

1

See It on the Wall

We assess the masonry where it lives — what failed, why, and how far it has spread. On commercial buildings that means getting on the wall, not a drive-by.

2

Written, Prioritized Scope

You get a written price with the must-fix separated from the can-wait, so the budget goes where the wall needs it. Timelines and access logistics are spelled out up front.

3

We Do the Work

Matched materials, full joints, proper crowns, real bases and drainage. Occupied buildings stay open, sites get protected, and cleanup happens every day — not just the last one.

4

Closeout Walk

We walk the finished work together — joints, matches, cleanup, the whole scope. Done means you have looked at every part of it and said so.
